Student after class:
K_W08 – The student characterizes the EU's influence on neighboring countries in the area of media policy;
K_W09 – The student explains the principles of operation of public and private media in the EU market and their mutual relationships, as well as cooperation to achieve the socio-economic goals of the EU and the Member States;
K_W11 – Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the sources, methods, and tools for obtaining scientific and administrative information regarding the functioning of media in EU Member States;
K_W012 – The student considers views on EU institutions undertaking media activities;
K_W13 – The student explains the economic, legal, and social conditions for restricting freedom of speech due to the protection of common legal rights (e.g., state secrets) and the protection of individual personal rights (including, among others, personal data protection and the prohibition of defamation), and knows the reasons for the introduction of copyright law and the consequences of its non-compliance;
K_U01 – The student interprets, analyzes, and describes processes and phenomena occurring in the European media market, including: interprets the social consequences of media politicization; Analyzes the causes and effects of changes in media consumption in Europe; describes the impact of media ownership concentration on freedom of speech;

Assessment criteria

lecture, presentation, stimulating the activity of the listeners.
Assessment criteria:
The assessment is based on the sum of points obtained from the semester work, test and activity.
A term paper on one of the given topics (0-5 points; each student must obtain at least 3 points), test (0-5 points; each student must obtain at least 3 points), activity during classes (0-11 points; each student must obtain at least 6 points), which consists of: during two classes work in subgroups (1 point each; each student must score at least 1 point), during three classes a short 5-minute presentation of topics prepared in subgroups outside of classes (1 point each; each student must obtain at least 2 points); during six classes, the opportunity to answer questions asked by the lecturer (1 point each; each student must obtain at least 2 points). The sum of the points obtained is the basis for the final evaluation:
12 points satisfactory rating,
13 points - sufficient plus,
14 points - All right,
15 points good plus,
from 16 points - very good.
In the event of obtaining an insufficient number of points from all assessed elements, the student receives an unsatisfactory grade. In the resit examination session, the student will be able to take the resit examination in the form of a test. Class grades will be entered into the USOS by the end of the examination session.
