Introduction. Explanation of the rules for passing and taking the final examination. Discussion of the lecture programme. Discussion of the nature of the written examination - a test with closed and open questions. The importance of European Union policies. Classification of EU policies taking into account the treaty bases.
2. Lecture
Rules for implementing EU policies. Various systematisations of EU policies. Scope and diversity of EU policies, degree of EU involvement in individual policies.
3. Europeanisation of policies – theory and practice. Models for creating and implementing EU policies.
Open method of coordination – advantages, disadvantages and application. Policies and multi-level governance in the EU.
4 . Lecture
Budgetary policy. Shaping the EU budget – applicable rules. EU budget revenue. Evolution of the European Union's Multiannual Financial Framework. Change in the structure of expenditure and the increase or decrease in the importance of individual EU policies.
5. Lecture
Stabilisation and anti-crisis measures in the European Union
Excessive deficit procedure. European Semester – a method of cooperation between Member States and EU institutions in the area of economic planning and policy coordination

EU modernisation and EU development strategies. The concept of modernisation, EU modernisation goals. The European Green Deal and the Fit for 55 package and the implementation of EU policies. Plans of the new EC 2024-2029

KNOWLEDGE
The student explains the functioning of the European Union in selected policy areas and characterises the mutual relations between countries in selected EU policy areas [K_W06]
-The student explains the economic and social aspects of the integration of European Union member states and the impact of the European Union

- explains and justifies the functioning of the European Union in selected EU policy areas [K_W12]
SKILLS
The student analyses social processes and phenomena as well as the relationships between political, legal and economic phenomena and processes within European countries in selected EU policy areas [K_U01]
The student analyses structures and institutions, in particular political, economic, national, supranational and EU institutions, in relation to their national and international environment in selected areas of EU policy [K_U02, K_U04]
The student analyses solutions to selected social, political and economic problems in the European Union and proposes appropriate solutions in this regard [K_U07
The student prepares oral presentations based on literature in accordance with academic standards, individually or in a team, and presents and interprets research results [K_U08, K_09, K_U10]
COMPETENCES
The student understands the importance of knowledge and enriching professional experience throughout life [K_K01]
The student correctly resolves professional dilemmas and sets priorities in the implementation of tasks based on legal regulations and internal codes. [K_K02; K_K03;
Assessment criteria
The prerequisite for taking the EXAM is passing the classes.
Passing the classes depends on meeting the following criteria:
1) attendance,
2) ongoing preparation and activity during classes,
3) giving a presentation and delivering a paper to the class based on the recommended literature on a strictly defined topic.
An excellent grade for the classes raises the exam grade by one grade, provided that the student has obtained the minimum number of points (51%) required to pass the exam.
The written exam is held during the exam session.
The exam covers the topics discussed in the classes and lectures.
The exam takes the form of a test with single and multiple choice questions as well as open-ended, problem-based questions.
The use of artificial intelligence tools at Level 2 is accepted for the classes (in accordance with the decision of the Teaching Council of the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Informatics).
GENERATING IDEAS AND CREATING STRUCTURES BY AI (Artificial intelligence can be used, among other things, to brainstorm, create structures and generate ideas for improving work. The final version of the work must not contain any content generated by artificial intelligence).
