Europeanization - theory and practice 2105-PI-M-D1EUROP
Lecture will include following parts (and examined case studies):
1) Europeanization in theory.
2) Europeanization – the impact on party systems in the Member States.
3) Europeanization and civic society development.
4) Europeanization – economic case studies.
5) Europeanization and foreign policy in Member States.
6) Europeanization and transposition of EU law.

Learning outcomes
- Knowledge of Europeanization, including many dimensions and sectors of operation.
- Knowledge on practical mechanisms (and case studies) of Europeanization in member states and on the EU level.
- Ability to use political science methodology in various case studies.
- Ability to analyse case studies and drawing out a political science conclusions.
- Ability to link the case studies with the adequate theoretical or conceptual framework.
Assessment criteria
Completion of the course is based on attendance, active participation in classes, as well as on the basis of a written examination based on the attached list of readings. In the case of non-fulfillment of the above conditions it is possible to pass the course in the form of an oral examination (of the reading of the subject).
