1. Discussion of the principles of creating scientific texts.
2. Emphasizing the importance of protecting intellectual property in scientific work.
3. Familiarizing students with the elements of a master's thesis: defining the purpose and subject of research, defining the research problem, embedding the research problem in an appropriate scientific paradigm, formulating a hypothesis and research questions, selecting appropriate research methods and techniques, developing research tools.
4. Students define the topic of their master's thesis.
5. Research of sources.
6. Conceptualization of the topic, discussion of the principles of formulating hypotheses and research questions.
7. Operationalization of research issues - selection of theories, methods and research techniques.
8. Development of assumptions for the research project.
9. Presentation of the assumptions of the research project to the seminar group.
10. Constructing research tools.
11. Analysis of the research problem in the light of the selected theory.
12. Consultations regarding the development of individual chapters of the work.
13. Preparation of a master's thesis.

The student knows the theories and methods used in European studies (K_W01)
The student knows and understands the results of the latest scientific research in the area of research discussed in the master's thesis (K_W02)
The student knows and understands selected advanced methods of analysis and interpretation of data in political and administrative sciences, legal sciences and sociological sciences (K_W03)
The student knows the rules of intellectual and industrial property protection (K_W12)
The student is able to analyze, understand and evaluate the research problem undertaken in the master's thesis using the appropriate scientific method and independently propose a solution to this problem (K_U03)
The student is able to collect and analyze data and construct research tools adequate to the adopted research assumptions (K_U06)
The student is able to develop and present the results of his or her own research using advanced information and communication techniques (K_U06)
The student is able to prepare a scientific paper undertaking a critical analysis of selected problems in European studies (K_U07)
The student is able to formulate arguments to support the adopted research assumptions (K_U09)
The student independently conducts scientific research and evaluates and selects the collected source materials (K_U12)
Assessment criteria
Completion of the first semester of the master's seminar: preparation of the outline of the master's thesis.
Completion of the second semester of the master's seminar: completion of two chapters of the master's thesis.
Completion of the last semester of the master's seminar: submission of a complete master's thesis.
