1) Lobbying the European Union - Purpose is to present outline area: Lobbying in outline theoretical - practical, Europeanization of lobbying, the essence, the nature, typology of interest groups, the formation of the lobbying in Europe - the evolution of advocacy at transnational and national institutionalization forms of legal and ethical lobbying in Europe, the European Union and individual member states of the EU (institutions and bodies, public consultation), models and functions of lobbying in Europe - the representation of group interests, the role of lobbying in the creation and shaping of European policies, configurations and economic representation structures and social interest groups, environmental representation, regional interest groups and trade unions, institutionalized form of influence - the influence of formal and informal, direct and indirect impact of offensive and defensive, top-down and bottom-up techniques lobbying - process and marketing form of influence, decision-making process - the subject lobbying (lobbying in the initiation phase of decision making and implementation of decisions), lobbying and democracy in Europe, the analysis of lobbying campaigns and lobbying prospects in Europe.

Learning outcomes
After completing the seminar course, the student:
a) in terms of knowledge: the graduate knows and understands in-depth the activities of institutions, bodies and external entities (interest groups) participating in the decision-making process of the European Union (K_W09). Understands the influence of external entities (interest groups) on the ongoing EU legislative and decision-making processes (K_W07).
b) in terms of skills: the graduate is able to use theoretical knowledge in the field of lobbying to describe and analyze the ongoing decision-making processes in the European Union. Is able to apply the acquired knowledge regarding the functioning of lobbying in practice (K_U01). Is able to prepare a project of a lobbying campaign and prepare an opinion in the scope of socio-economic consultations conducted by the European Commission and other entities participating in the decision-making process (K_U07). He can prepare an oral speech in the form of a presentation of a thematic issue and engage in polemics and defense of his arguments (K_U08, K_U09).
c) in the field of social competences: the graduate is ready to recognize the importance of knowledge in critically addressing problems related to the representation of interests in the European Union (K_K01).
Assessment criteria
The final grade is a weighted average of the partial grades within the course (in order to obtain the final credit, you need to score points in each of the slots):
1) Activity during the presentation (0-4 points – 1 point for each class with a thematic presentation - schedule of classes: 1-5).
2) Problematic paper – preparation and presentation of a presentation (0-4 points).
3) Public consultations – workshops (0-4 points).
4) Lobbying campaign – workshops (0-4 points).
5) Seminar with a lobbyist – activity (0-4 points).
Final grade (0-20 points):
20 → very good!
18 – 19 → bdb
