History of European Economic and Political Integration 2105-EPE-L-D1HEEP
The purpose of the course is to explain the major milestones of European Economic and Political Integration. The focus is put on the major developments of European integration processes, the impact of the 2004 EU enlargement and Treaty of Lisbon on integration of EU member states. Additionally, the emphasis is put on the issue of contemporary crises in the integration processes and prospects for future developments on the matter.

Knowledge
After completing the course a graduate knows and understands:
- economic and political incentives for European integration (K_W01);
- methods of searching and selecting information on key institutions of the European Union (K_W08);
- key elements of the processes of political and economic integration of Europe in historical terms (K_W04; K_W06).
Skills
A graduate is able to:
- explain the main theories and concepts shaping EU policy (K_U02);
- analyze EU structures and institutions in connection with their national and international environment (K_U03);
- work effectively in a group (K_U11).
Social competence
The graduate is ready to:
- define priorities for the implementation of a task defined by himself and others relating to educational goals (K_K01)
Assessment criteria
The grade consists of the following constituents:
1. Final exam at the end of semester - 40% of final grade.
2. Two projects-presentations - 15% each; 30% total.
3. Class activity - 30 %
Participation in classes is mandatory. Two absences are allowed.
