The course covers entrepreneurship and international business.
A comprehensive overview of concepts related to entrepreneurship and international business will be provided, including the concepts of enterprise and entrepreneur, the determinants of entrepreneurship, characteristics of enterprises, the concept of international business, and the international environment of enterprises.
The life cycle of enterprises will be presented, including the establishment and liquidation of enterprises in Poland, and the concept of enterprise restructuring.
Students will become familiar with various aspects of enterprise operations, including the principles and objectives of enterprise operations, types of activities, inventories, enterprise potential, and resources, as well as the theory and methods of enterprise management (including total quality management, lean management, JIT, outsourcing, etc.).
Furthermore, the topic of enterprise internationalization will be addressed, including the concept and forms of internationalization, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as the subsequent operation of enterprises in foreign markets, including marketing and pricing policies.
Students will also become familiar with the basic elements of research and analysis of the economic situation in the international market – they will learn the concept of market analysis and methods for conducting it in specific markets: agricultural and mineral commodities, consumer and durable goods, and services.
The course will also cover the finances of companies participating in international trade – external factors influencing the financial situation of companies, sources of financing for companies, current asset management, taxes and their impact on the financial situation of companies. They will also learn about the concept of foreign direct investment and theories of how direct investment arises.

Learning outcomes
- The student has knowledge of the basics of entrepreneurship and international business, with particular emphasis on the operation and management of an enterprise and its internationalization process.
- Has knowledge of conducting business operations in foreign markets, both organizationally and financially, and understands the basics of conducting trade negotiations with partners from different cultural backgrounds.
- Has knowledge of direct investment, foreign exchange markets, and the finances of enterprises that participate in international trade.
- Has knowledge of conducting business based on basic tools for researching and analyzing the economic situation and understands the key factors that influence the economic situation of selected commodity markets.
SKILLS:
- Is able to, based on basic macroeconomic indicators, perceive the direction of the economic situation of the economy on a global scale and in individual markets.
- Is able to conduct trade negotiations with foreign partners, taking into account cultural differences and divergent business philosophies.
- Has skills enabling participation in the process of managing an enterprise and its internationalization, as well as using a variety of instruments available to enterprises in foreign markets.
SOCIAL COMPETENCES:
- is prepared to perform professional tasks related to running a business or working in enterprises operating in foreign markets

Assessment criteria
project
Students work in groups to develop a project in the form of their own enterprise, then carry it through all the stages outlined in the program. Finally, they submit a report on their activities.
Permitted use of artificial intelligence in classes:
LEVEL 2: generating ideas and creating a presentation structure using AI (after prior brainstorming within the group) and certain elements of LEVEL 3: language correction, preparation of iconographic images, charts, or tables
