Information Technology 2104-L-D4TECI
The course is built of two blocks.
The aim of the first block is to teach students how to find necessary materials (documents, books, articles etc.) on the Web with the help of popular browsers such as Firefox or Internet Explorer. Students will be familiarized with different methods of searching the Internet (Google, different databases, electronic librairies). A strong accent will be put on the necessity of using “reliable” electronic materials in academic and professional work.
The second bloc focuses on preparing academic papers. The students are taught how to write academic papers (plan of the paper, footnotes, bibliography etc.).
The third thematic block is related to search, import and processing of economic's databases. The aim of the exercise is to learn to use Excel to create own tables and charts in order to prove the selected research hypothesis.
The fourth block concerns design, creation and publication of web pages. After completing the course the student will be able to independently prepare and publish a website on the net.

Learning outcomes
After this course students will know how to find necessary materials on a given topic within the field of international relations.
They will be able to write a paper on a given topic within the field of international relations; such paper will meet basic formal criteria required for an academic paper or article.
The will know how to make an attractive and interesting Web page.
Assessment criteria
Regular attendance is the basic requirement to complete the course (students can miss two class).
The end note will be also based on the assessment of a end term paper. The subject of the end term paper should be agreed with the teacher.
Active participation in the course will be also an asset.
