The goal of this course is to get
students acquainted with the
terminlology in the area of Labour
Market. The course aims at
developing students' skills and
competences to fluently talk and write
about the phenomena and processes
taking place in the sphere of work,
labour markets and organizations as
well as to compare and critically
evaluate the differences and
similarities between Polish, British and
American labour market.
Classes are focused on student’s oral
presentations and short written work.
Most of the topics listed above will be
discussed in the context of three states:
Poland, the UK and the US.

Students have extensive knowledge of
the terminology presented in the
course.
Students understand written and
spoken language material within the
scope discussed in the course of the
classes.
Students can produce appropriate
language in order to discuss multiple
issues connected with Labour Market.
Students can recognize and explain
the differences and similarities
between employment regulations in
Poland, the UK and the US.
Assessment criteria
To gain credit the student needs to
- attend classes regularly and participate actively (no more than 2 unexcused absences in class are allowed);
- score minimum of 60 % points in a mini-test (vocabulary);
- deliver a 6 min. presentation on a chosen topic;
- pass the final test (reading, use of English, writing) you need to score minimum of 60%.
