The lecture is to present systematic knowledge about the labour system in Poland and to acquaint the student with information about the principles of employment law, instruments of labour protection. Students get familiar with the evolution of the system and change of the world of work in Europe and Poland
Sources of employment law and labor law standards - the division of general and specific sources of international labor law, the characteristics of collective bargaining agreements, regulations, and the review of European employment law and key ILO conventions
The law of the employment relationship - the characteristics of the employment relationship, with the presentation of the types of employment contract, as well as the most important characteristics of flexible forms of employment
Establishment and termination of employment - contract of employment issues, the establishment and termination of the employment relationship and the legal protection of the employment relationship
Prohibition of competition - to discuss trade clause in the employment relationship and at its dissolution
Protection of the employment relationship - discussion of general and specific employment protection
Protection of pay for work - a detailed discussion of protecting the right to salary and wage rules and regulations of sources - payroll regulations, collective agreements
Financial responsibility - the responsibility of material conditions and the types of liability
Maternity protection and juvenile
Health and safety - health and safety rules, general rules and examples of specific provisions

Learning outcomes
After the course students:
- Have a systematic knowledge of employment law
- Have information on employment law principles and instruments of labor protection,
- knows the structure of the labor code in the specified range is able to apply a rule of law to the facts
- is familiar with the evolution of the labor system and change of the world of work in Europe and Poland
Assessment criteria
Prerquisites: A basic knowledge of employment law and labour legislation.
