Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student:
- knows the basic principles of the market and market economy, particularly emphasizing the mechanisms of shaping public finances and their importance in solving social problems (K_W06).
- Knows the principles of the functioning of the social security system and the provision of social services using various security techniques (provision, insurance, and assistance) (K_W07).
- knows the governance and political decision-making mechanisms related to public finance in a multi-level environment and their consequences in a differentiated time perspective (K_W09).
- can interpret and analyze phenomena related to public finance, and understand their interrelationships and interdependencies using knowledge of theories of political science and economics (K_U01).
- can critically analyze public policy programs and explain the role of public finance in their creation and implementation (K_U02).
- is ready to represent the diverse interests of social groups in an entrepreneurial way on issues related to public finance and public sector economics (K_K03).
Assessment criteria
A written exam (open and closed questions) is the basis for credit.
One of the key components of this course is the group presentation. You are required to prepare and present a selected problem in public finance. This presentation is a significant part of your assessment.
Attendance control - two absences are allowed; 3-4 absences: the need to prepare additional credit work on the topic indicated by the instructor; more than four absences: no possibility of passing the course.
