Techniques of self-presentation 2102-FA-TEAU
Course conducted in the following forms:
• Lecture elements – aimed at transferring basic knowledge of rules and factors (psychological, social, cultural) playing into self-presentation image creation as well as the language as the persuasive-argumentative system.
• Discussion – aimed at encouraging creative thinking and analyzing speech acts in the scope of social and political communication.
• Individual and team oriented tasks – aimed at practical development of competences and skills for self-presentation creation as well as defining the most popular self-presentation techniques.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
• Acquired knowledge of basics for self-presentation creation
• Acquired knowledge of conditionings (psychological, sociological, cultural) for functioning of self-presentation in social and political scope of Poland and the EU
• Acquired knowledge of multi-faceted grounds for social approval or rejection of a created image
• Acquired knowledge of means of communication, persuasion techniques, emotion construction techniques in social and political scope
Skills:
• Able to analyze and evaluate self-presentation messages both own and of the others
• Able to create and analyze persuasive-argumentative message
• Able to analyze present-day parliamentary and political rhetoric in Poland and the EU
Competences:
• Preliminarily prepared for public speeches and polemics
• Prepared to work in teams, taking on various roles
• Preliminarily prepared to perform self-presentation counseling
Assessment criteria
• Attendance
• Active participation in classes – discussions and experiments regarding analysis of own and colleagues behavior
• Analysis of images of selected public figures
• Knowledge assessment test
