Philosophy 2101-L-D1FILO-DPRM
The course aims to introduce the main concepts, methods, philosophical concepts. On the example of historically shaped philosophical trends, as well as modern concepts, there are shown peculiarities and style of philosophical thought, specific nature of the fundamental questions and philosophical dilemmas. Presentation of the fundamental philosophical trends. Attempting to answer the question to what extent philosophy is to broaden horizons, to what extent may be helpful for solving theoretical and practical problems. The emphasis on the direction of contemporary philosophy and its relevance to current problems of individual and collective life. The basic dilemma of ethics, aesthetics, philosophical anthropology, philosophy of religion and of history are being discussed.

The basic philosophy course should give the listener the opportunity to further understanding of complex issues concerning the relationship between humanities and science, bring the axiological dimension of importance in the spheres, individual and social relations, to facilitate understanding of the currently existing cultural thought significance for contemporary times and to identify directions of development of science.
