Knowledge – the student knows and understands
K_W08 – basic concepts and principles of intellectual property protection, including copyright law and industrial property law; as well as the position of the Polish legal system within the international framework of intellectual property protection.
K_W09 – principles of making available and exploiting copyrighted works and industrial property objects, including licences, assignment of rights, permitted use, and limitations of the copyright monopoly.
K_W10 – basic civil, criminal, and administrative procedures related to pursuing claims for infringements of intellectual property rights, including the functioning of specialised intellectual property courts and proceedings before the Polish Patent Office.
K_W11 – principles of intellectual property protection in the digital environment, including regulations concerning the Internet, digital platforms, electronic services, and academic integrity (plagiarism, self plagiarism).
Skills – the student is able to
K_U01 – identify and classify different categories of intellectual property rights and assign them to the appropriate legal protection regimes.
K_U02 – analyse cases of intellectual property infringement and indicate appropriate legal remedies (civil, criminal, administrative).
K_U03 – interpret provisions of copyright law, industrial property law, and special statutes, and apply them to practical problems related to the exploitation of works, trademarks, inventions, or databases.
K_U04 – assess legal risks associated with publishing, sharing, and using content online, including on digital platforms.
K_U05 – recognise instances of academic misconduct and apply appropriate reporting procedures in accordance with university regulations.
