Seminar II 1900-3-SM2-ZAS
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with key terminology as well as global trends and innovative solutions in the field of environmental management across various temporal and spatial scales, such as: Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), Circular Economy (CE), Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). Classes are conducted in English at the B2+ level. The main emphasis is placed on the individual work of the student under the supervision of an advisor (tutoring/consultations), resulting in the development of a concept and a detailed research plan (methodological framework) for the master’s thesis. This includes: topic selection, literature review, formulation of objectives, research hypotheses, methodology, and a work schedule. Example scope of topics: - Introduction to the Seminar: Academic writing and research ethics. - Literature review and identification of research gaps (Literature Review). Global Environmental Governance. Case studies, - Selected global trends in environmental management, including: Circular Economy, Nature-Based Solutions, Climate Change Adaptation/Mitigation Strategies. - Student presentations (in English), analysis of articles - Development of research methodology - Designing a Research Project: Objectives, Hypotheses, and Methods (collaboration with supervisor/tutor).

Bibliography
Contemporary English-language scientific literature, including articles, monographs, and reports from the United Nations and the European Union, addresses selected issues and trends in environmental management, as determined individually by students and their supervisors. Additionally, methodological resources for composing master's theses are included.
