Study on Law, Politics and Society 1600-SZD-SPEC-SNP-PA
This seminar is designed for doctoral students conducting research in political science and administration, interdisciplinary political science and legal studies, and legal studies. The content of the seminar will concern scientific research programs, their development and application within the framework of political science and administration and legal studies; the use of selected qualitative methods in research in law, politics and society; issues of trans-, inter- and cross-disciplinary research in law, politics and society. Theoretical and methodological issues discussed during the classes will be confronted with the students' IPB and plans for their future dissertations - so that they can apply the indications from the literature on the subject and the seminar in their work.

Assessment criteria
The prerequisites for taking part in the classes are 1) knowledge of the basics of the methodology of one of the scientific disciplines discussed (politics or law), 2) knowledge of the basics of research design and assumptions resulting from the philosophy of science of Popper, Kuhn and Lakatos. Reading the scripts and articles provided before the classes can supplement the second point. Students must complete tasks as part of their work (reading the indicated publications, preparing mini-projects) before each class; active class participation is required; one absence is allowed.
1) Principles for passing the classes and the subject (including resit session): Attendance at classes, active participation in them, and completion of individual tasks will be the basis for passing the course.
2) Methods for the verification of learning outcomes: Presentation, discussion, and case analysis (IRP in relation to findings from classes and literature); supporting distance learning via Google Classroom
3) Evaluation criteria: Attendance is 10%; active class participation is 45%; individual work is 45%.
