Education from an anthropological perspective 1600-SZD-SPEC-PA-PED
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the issues of anthropological analysis of the upbringing process. Students gain knowledge and competence to perceive and analyze cultural phenomena in the area of upbringing and secondary socialization, to perceive their specificity, meaning and context. During the classes, students will become familiar with the specificity of the anthropological view of social and cultural phenomena, referred to as upbringing. The classes will allow them to recognize these phenomena and provide tools for their analysis as cultural processes. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the possibilities of analyzing upbringing phenomena from an anthropological perspective. Upbringing here means not only the process of acquiring culture (enculturation), but also broadly all kinds of secondary acquisition of cultural competences, expanding cultural knowledge, adopting and modifying the perspective of cultural construction of the world (and acting in it). The classes will therefore concern how culture shapes a person. During the course, students will become familiar with different ways of approaching the upbringing process in anthropology. They will learn about anthropological studies of upbringing in different cultures. Students will also learn about various informal ways of acquiring knowledge, creating cultural discourses, and transforming the ways of culturally constructing the world. Individual classes will consist of the following topics:
1. Anthropological research on education.
2. Folklore and common sense in the process of education.
3. Media and new media and the process of education.
4. Circulations of culture (media in culture).
5. The edges of politics.
6. Group identities (national, ethnic identities).
7. Internal and external in culture (rules of purity)
10. Cultural memory and education
