Methodology of Economy 1600-SZD-SPEC-ME-EF
The classes will be dedicated to reflecting on selected issues of economic theory from the perspective offered by the general philosophy of science. In particular, the following topics will be addressed: models and their assumptions, the nature of the relationship between the micro and macroeconomics, value judgments in economics, methods of explanation in economics, causality and its theories, as well as types of ethical assumptions in economic models and theories.

Knowledge | The graduate knows and understands:
WG_01 - to the extent necessary for existing paradigms to be revised - a worldwide body of work, covering theoretical foundations as well as general and selected specific issues - relevant to a particular discipline

WG_03 - scientific research methodology in the field of the social sciences
WK_01 - fundamental dilemmas of modern civilisation from the perspective of the social sciences

Assessment criteria
Description of requirements related to participation in classes, including the permitted number of explained absences: The possibility of one unexcused absence.
Principles for passing the classes and the subject (including resit session): Written exam, with additional points awarded for active participation during classes.
