Discourse analysis 1600-SZD-SPEC-AD-KM
During the workshops we will deal with: the concept of discourse (we will briefly review theoretical approaches and attempt to organize the criteria for distinguishing and classifying varieties and types of discourse), the theoretical basis for distinguishing types of discourse, the characteristics of analytical tools applicable to the study of discourse (methods and tools, such as. linguistic approach, Foucaultian reflection, KAD, multimodal discourse analysis, etc.), analysis of selected examples from public discourse in Poland (here an attempt to identify and analyze discourses: power, emancipatory and post-dependence [feminist, gender, post-colonial perspective], religion, science - in the contexts of their respective paradigms [e.g., romantic, positivist, modernist], etc.).

Assessment criteria
- General knowledge of text semiotics, language analysis, and theoretical foundations of cultural studies type analyses; one absence allowed
- Ongoing evaluation of discussions and analyses performed, presentation and/or written work on KAD; corrective oral credit-
- Ongoing evaluation of the exercise tasks performed and the quality of project implementation; evaluation of the level of acquired knowledge and social competence on the basis of presentation of self-prepared discourse analysis and/or final interview
- attendance in class, active participation in class, evaluation of written work/presentation
