Phd student seminar for the discipline Sociological Sciences 1600-SZD-SDOK-SOC
The seminar offers PhD students an opportunity to present their thesis advancements. The goal is to help develop a theoretical or methodological framework, discuss the results, and provide insights or new interpretations. There are three possible presentations:
- the presentation focused on a particular part of PhD thesis
- the presentation of a working version of the paper or conference presentation
- the presentation of the overall thesis (self-report) and simulation of a public defence.

Assessment criteria
Description of requirements related to participation in classes, including the
permitted number of explained absences, active participation in the discussion, and a maximum of two absences.
Principles for passing the classes and the subject (including resit session); based on the presentation provided.
Methods for the verification of learning outcomes; - Activity during classes. - A minimum of one obligatory presentation discussing the progress of scientific work (according to the indicated assumptions) is required.
Evaluation criteria: activity and presence. As the seminar is planned to help PhD candidates prepare their thesis or papers, the scientific and academic quality of presentations won’t be scrutinized.
