Seminar in the discipline of political science and administration 1600-SZD-SD-NoPiA
The aim of the seminar is to deepen students' knowledge and skills on the basis of selected surveys and scientific texts most important for the discipline of political science and administration. The participants of the seminar will study and analyze outstanding texts of political scientists from Poland and other countries, and become familiar with the methods and results of their research.

W_5 the principles of dissemination of scientific results, including through open access, and the basic principles of knowledge transfer to the economic and social sphere, including the basic principles of commercialization of scientific results and know-how associated with these results P8S_WG, P8S_WK
Skills: ability to
U_1 use knowledge from various fields of science to creatively identify, formulate and innovatively solve complex problems or carry out research tasks, and in particular to:
- define the purpose and subject of scientific research, formulate research hypotheses,
- creatively apply and develop research methods, techniques and tools appropriate to the research being carried out
- draw conclusions on the basis of scientific research results P8S_UW
U_2 convey a critical analysis and evaluation of the results of scientific research, expert activities and other creative work and their contribution to the development of knowledge in the area of the conducted research P8S_UW
U_5 document and present the results of research work and prepare scientific publications - in accordance with the principles of creating such research papers - while respecting the principles of intellectual property protection P8S_UK
U_6 Participate in scientific discourse P8S_UK
Social competence: ability to
K_1 convey a critical assessment of the scientific output and expert activity within the scientific discipline in which the dissertation is prepared P8S_KK
K_3 recognize the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems P8S_KK
K_5 maintain and develop the ethos of the research community by, among others:
- conducting scientific activities in an independent and ethical manner,
- respecting the principle of public ownership of scientific results, taking into account the principles of intellectual property protection P8S_KR
Assessment criteria
Description of the requirements related to participation in classes, including the number of excusable absences:
Attendance, activeness, presentations, 1 absence allowed
Final assessment (including correcting credits): The final assessment is issued on the basis of attendance at the seminar, presentation of texts at the seminar
Learning Outcomes Assessment:
Individual paper presentation; Participation in discussions regarding papers of other seminar participants.
Assessment criteria:
The assessment is made by the person conducting the seminar on the basis of the active participation of the seminarian and the presentation of at least one paper devoted to the review of scientific issues. The assessment should also include the degree of soft skills acquired by the PhD student.
