The Khmer Rouge revolution in the light of dependency theory 1600-SZD-ID-RCK
During the lecture, the students will have the opportunity to analyse one of the most radical revolutions in history - the Khmer Rouge revolution - its genesis, course, historical context. A central problem addressed during the class will be to point out the empirical manifestations of autarkic development; to consider which concepts of perceived social change correspond with it and in which situations it becomes particularly politically attractive, what are its external conditions and what accounts for its political failures. The case study provides an excellent illustration for dependency theory and the social programmes created on its basis
