Professional Practice in Primary School (mid-term) 1400-016PZSPS
The professional practice integrated with subject classes in the didactics of biology and science comprises 15 hours, consisting of time spent in a primary school and the student’s independent work related to completing assigned tasks. The practice includes: becoming familiar with the didactic tasks carried out by the school; acquiring skills in maintaining and using school documentation such as the class register, student achievement sheets, textbooks, and subject-specific teaching materials; learning the duties of a subject teacher in biology and nature; observing and reflecting on the teacher’s leadership style, communication with the class, teaching methods, and workshop practices, as well as recognizing the challenges of professional work based on observations of lessons conducted by the supervising teacher; designing lesson plans and conducting lessons.
1 ECTS = 25 hours of student work: activities at the primary school – 10 hours, independent student work related to completing assigned tasks – 15 hours.

Assessment criteria
The condition for passing is presence at school, in the selected practice school under the supervision of the practice mentor teacher and the completion of assigned tasks (including the observation of 4 lessons and the teaching of 2 lessons based on an original lesson plan).
