Praktyki Erasmus z badań anizotropii magnetycznej w geologii (laboratorium) 1300-WPEMAM
The purpose of the internship was to expand the theoretical knowledge of the magnetic properties of rocks and to acquire the ability to independently perform and interpret the results of selected laboratory tests: anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) and anisotropy of anhysteretic remanent magnetization (AARM) of rock samples.
Type of course
Course coordinators
Learning outcomes
• Knowledge of the theory of magnetic properties of rocks
• Operation of laboratory equipment for measurements of magnetic anisotropy of rock samples
• Ability to interpret the obtained research results and draw geological conclusions from them
• Independence in selecting accurate analyses and methods for specific rock material
Assessment criteria
Grade on the basis of the documents: “Learning Agreement for Traineeships – after the mobility” and „Transcript of Work”
The basis for completing the traineeship is to present the obtained results. The student summarizes the work in the form of a scientific essay and presentation containing such information as: location of the studied area, history of previous research, proposed models of geological development of the area, discussion of the presented results. In addition, the final grade consists of an overall evaluation of the student's work, where aspects such as attitude to work, social skills and personal qualities.
Practical placement
