Geotechnical design 1300-OPDTCH-GES
The classes are focused on the issues of interaction between the ground and the construction of a building structure.
The course consists of 8 thematic blocks covering the issues:
- determination of calculation parameters in accordance with the guidelines of Eurocode 7
- deep foundation and underground tunneling impact on adjacent buildings
- design of shallow direct foundations in eccentric load conditions
- design of pile foundations
- design of retaining structures in the form of cantilevered and anchored walls and gravity walls
- design of reinforced soil structures
- geotechnical monitoring
- GEOBIM
During the classes students will learn about the theory and methodology of designing of presented structures in an analytical approach. Using the presented information and knowledge in the field of soil mechanics, foundations, geotechnics, and using analytical methods, during the classes they will design the construction of a direct footing, pile foundation, a selected retaining structure and a structure made of reinforced soil. The obtained results will be confronted with the results of modelling with the use of the GEO 5 engineering software package.
