Functionalized gold nanostructures and their application in the synthesis of new pharmaceuticals 1200-PROJ44
The project consists synthesis of gold nanoparticles and nanoclusters functionalized with nitroxides and selected chemotherapeutics. The synthesized nanomaterials are characterized using microscopic methods (TEM, HR TEM, SEM), spectroscopic (EPR, UV-vis, NMR), dynamic light scattering method (DLS) and thermal analyses (TGA, DSC).
During the project realization, students get fundamental knowledge of nanotechnology. The students also will be familiar with the most important applications of nanomaterials in medicine (as platforms for controlled drugs releasing and new theranostics, in particular).
