Specialization Laboratory 1 - Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry 1200-2EN-INOCHLA12M
Students have to solve 12 laboratory problems. During this practical course the student gain knowledge about theoretical basis and practical use of the following analytical methods: Flow Injection Analysis (FIA), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray microanalysis (EDS), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Electrochemical methods including conducting polymers experiments, biosensors, solid state electrochemistry and electrochemical microscopy (SCEM), gas chromatography Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS), Capillary electrophoresis. Teaching activity include the evaluation of measurement uncertainty from method validation studies.

Learning outcomes
The students attending the course will be able to use a range of chemistry and analytical laboratory techniques and instrumentation such as: Flow Injection Analysis (FIA), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray microanalysis (EDS), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Electrochemical methods including conducting polymers experiments, biosensors, solid state electrochemistry and electrochemical microscopy (SCEM), gas chromatography Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS), Capillary electrophoresis. Teaching activity include the evaluation of measurement uncertainty from method validation studies. Students will be able to write a comprehensive laboratory reports discussing the importance of the experimental results.
Assessment criteria
the final grade is computed by taking the mean of the grades from all exercises.
