Specialization Seminar - Theoretical and Structural Chemistry 1200-2CHTEOSTSA2M
Oral presentations (about 60 min each) pertaining basic concepts of theoretical chemistry or crystallography, chosen from a list or added to the list by the student (the latter possibility needs the approval of professor). The students learn how to plan logical structure of their lecture and how to deliver the presentation. They are expected to defend the theses of their presentation, and learn how to participate in scientific discussion. The quality of the presentation is analyzed by professor, also by other students (pros and contras, how to improve things in the future).

Learning outcomes
The most important effect of the seminar should be student's conclusion that deep understanding of the material to be presented is a must. Further, the student should learn how to planify the logic of the presentation, also how to present the material in a crystal-clear way, as well as how to participate in and conduct scientific discussion.
Assessment criteria
Each lecture of the participant is evaluated by the professor, the final grade depending on all lectures delivered and the student's overall performance. The final grade results from the evaluation of understanding of the material presented (checked by the answers on the questions asked by the participants) - 70%, the way the material is presented: the didactic aspect (20%) as well as the technical aspect (10%).
Practical placement

Bibliography
according to the presented material: either textbooks or some specified original papers indicated by the professor.
