Photonics seminar 1103-5sFot
The seminar includes presentations on current research topics in photonics, optics, nano-optics, plasmonics, materials engineering, and modern computational techniques used in the analysis and design of photonic structures. The seminar features invited speakers — researchers from Poland and abroad — who present the results of their latest scientific work. The aim of the seminar is to familiarize students with the newest trends and research findings in fields related to photonics and to develop their skills in critical analysis of presented material and active participation in scientific discussion.

Learning outcomes
The student is familiar with selected contemporary research directions in photonics, optics, nano-optics, plasmonics, and materials engineering, as presented by invited experts. The student understands current research challenges and technological trends in modern computational techniques used in photonics.
The student is able to critically analyze the material presented during the seminar, formulate questions, and engage in substantive scientific discussion. They can synthesize and interpret the latest research results presented by speakers, placing them within the broader context of photonics knowledge. The student is capable of independently expanding and updating their knowledge based on the presented research and recommended literature.
The student is prepared to participate in scientific seminars and to collaborate actively within academic and research environments. They understand the importance of openness to new ideas, technological innovations, and interdisciplinary approaches in the development of modern photonics. The student appreciates the role of scientific communication, exchange of experience, and dissemination of research results in the development of a scientific career.
Assessment criteria
The student is assessed based on their participation in seminar discussions and, if applicable, the quality of their seminar presentation.
