Workshp in Theoretical Physics II 1102-5FT21
The main objective of the Workshop II is to further develop student's self-learning skills under the guidance of his direct MSc thesis supervisor. The Workshop II is a direct continuation of the Workshop I. It's programm should be more focused on the thesis and related problems as compared. The possible ways to fulfill the requirements are basically identical with the Workshp I and include:
1) Student's participation in lectures, seminars, scientific schools or conferences provided either by the Faculty or, if needed, by other scientific or educational institutions. The decision concerning a participation is taken by the coordinator on the initiative of the
student's supervisor.
2) A detailed, technical study of one or several topics related to the program of her/his specialization. The topics can be closely related to the planned master program or can even constitute a part of the thesis. The study should be followed by a technical analysis and finding an original solution of a problem whose solutions are either known in the literature or, preferably, not. The aim is to increase both the student's knowledge as well as to advance his
technical abilities in using contemporary mathematics, scientific programming or numerical methods.
Assessment form:
Students work is graded by her/his direct supervisor according to a written report made by the student or her/his public oral presentation. The final score is introduced to the USOS system by the Workshop coordinator. It is is solely based on the recommendation of the supervisor.
