Physics Laboratory II R 1100-2Ind21
The main goal of the Laboratory is to familiarize students with experimental techniques used in various branches of physics.
Program:
As part of the Laboratory, students carry out experiments under the supervision of assistants in three main areas:
- solid-state physics,
- optics,
- subatomic physics
Students are free to choose which experiments they complete, although access to individual setups is limited by the laboratory’s capacity. The two experiments required for credit must come from two different areas.
The time allotted to complete an experiment ranges from two to four weeks. All experiments are performed individually. Credit is granted upon submission of a final report written in the style of a scientific article. Grading takes into account every component of the work—the experimental performance, the written report, the result of the preliminary quiz, and the final discussion.
Passing the course 1100-2Ind21 – Physics Laboratory II R requires completing two experiments.

Learning outcomes
In the laboratory course students will become familiar with various experimental methods used in various branches of physics: subatomic physics, solid state physics and optics.
Assessment criteria
The final grade is given by the average of the grades of each of the exercises. The grade of each exercise is determined by the assistant on the basis of all elements of the exercise - realising the experimental part, the report and the results of the colloquium before before the measurement and at the end.
