Main fields of studies for MISMaP
Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
- knowledge of physical phenomena demonstrating incompatibility of classical physics with microscopic world
- mastering basic notions and mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics
- comprehension of the quantum picture of physical quantities, such as energy or angular momentum
Skills:
- solving standard problems in nonrelativistic quantum mechanics
- describing quantum phenomena using simple mathematical models
- explaining effects resulting from wave-particle duality and quantum interference
Assessment criteria
There will be four written tests:
test I - 9-13, room ???
test II - 9-13, room ???
written exam on the first date - 9am-1pm, room ???
written exam on the second date - ??? September, 9am-1pm, room ???
Each written test will consist of the following elements:
4 tasks - 20 points in total.
During the entire written test, you may have an A4 sheet of paper with you, written on one or both sides in any way you like.
Assessment criteria
3 [30.40) points
3+ [40-45) points
4 [45-50) points
4+ [50-55) points
5 [55-60] points
The oral exam serves to improve the grade by a maximum of one grade (e.g., from 4 to 5). Failure of the oral exam lowers the grade by one grade.
Attendance at tests and exams is mandatory, and any absence must be justified within 7 days after the test. An unjustified absence is equivalent to a score of 0 on the test.
Practical placement
none
