Karol Darwin spotyka Zygmunta Freuda. Analiza krytyczna powieści Kochanica Francuza Johna Fowlesa 3301-LB2045
Studenci czytają co tydzień po ok. 5 rozdziałów powieści Johna Fowlesa "The French Lieutenant's Woman". Podczas zajęć rozdziały te są omówione w kontekstach krytycznych: psychoanaliza, teoria ewolucji i jej recepcja (zarówno w XIX, jak i XX wieku), marksizm, teoria Malthusa, studia neo-wiktoriańskie. Duży nacisk kładziony jest na narrację w powieści i podejścia krytyczne pozwalające ją przeanalizować: metafikcja, historiograficzna metafikcja, intertekstualność (główne źródła odniesień to powieści Charlesa Dickensa, zwłaszcza "The Pickwick's Papers", oraz "Vanity Fair" Thackeraya, w mniejszym stopniu poezja Tennysona i Hardy'ego). Zajęcia mają formę dyskusji.
Rodzaj przedmiotu
Efekty kształcenia
Po ukończeniu kursu student:
1. posiada orientację w teoriach wspomnianych powyżej;
2. potrafi zastosować tę wiedzę we własnej pracy nad tekstem.
Kryteria oceniania
Warunkiem zaliczenia kursu jest aktywny udział studenta w zajęciach, w dyskusjach na temat analizowanych tekstów teoretycznych i literackich. Student może zostać również poproszony o przygotowanie krótkiego referatu na temat własnych lektur. Po ukończeniu kursu student powinien napisać pracę semestralną LUB zdać ustny egzamin.
