US-EU relations in a Changing World 2100-MON-10
Celem zajęć jest zapoznanie studentów z istotą oraz ewolucją stosunków transatlantyckich w okresie po zakończeniu II wojny światowej ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem okresu pozimnowojennego. Zajęcia będą podzielone na cztery zasadnicze części.
Cześć pierwsza będzie koncentrować się na ogólnych zagadnieniach związanych z rozwojem relacji między Stanami Zjednoczonymi a Europą. Omawiane będą kwestie strategii bezpieczeństwa UE i krajów amerykańskich oraz ogólnych celów współpracy. W tej części omówione będą także zagadnienia związane ze sferą bezpieczeństwa (problem NATO, kwestie europejskich inicjatyw w dziedzinie bezpieczeństwa i obrony, wojna w Iraku).
Druga część zajęć koncentrować się będzie na problematyce stosunków ekonomicznych. Poruszane będą problemy współpracy i rywalizacji w transatlantyckich stosunkach gospodarczych.
W części trzeciej analizowane będą zagadnienia o charakterze społecznym i kulturowym, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wyzwań globalnych oraz społecznych aspektów relacji transatlantyckich.
Kurs zakończony będzie podsumowaniem oraz prognozą stosunków transatlantyckich na przyszłość.

Efekty kształcenia
Po zakończeniu kursu student/ka powinien/powinna:
• posiąść podstawową wiedzę z zakresu stosunków transatlantyckich;
• uzyskać swobodę w wyszukiwaniu oraz analizowaniu kwestii związanych ze stosunkami transatlantyckimi dostępnymi w literaturze przedmiotu i w źródłach internetowych;
• rozwinąć umiejętność analitycznego i krytycznego myślenia;
• rozwinąć zdolność do formułowania przemyślanych konkluzji;
• rozwinąć zdolności w zakresie pisania o stosunkach transatlantyckich (umiejętność precyzyjnego formułowania myśli, tworzenia struktury tekstu, swoboda korzystania ze źródeł i umiejętność wykorzystywania ich w tekście /przypisy
i bibliografia);
• rozwinąć zdolność wypowiadania się oraz prezentowania swoich myśli na forum publicznym (poprzez udział w dyskusjach i debatach podczas zajęć oraz dzięki przygotowywaniu i przedstawianiu prezentacji na dany temat)
• rozwinąć umiejętności w zakresie wystąpień publicznych oraz przygotowywania i przedstawiania prezentacji
Kryteria oceniania
Warunki uzyskania zaliczenia:
1. Obecność na zajęciach oraz znajomość literatury i aktywność – 10 pkt.
2. Projekt studencki przedstawiony na zajęciach (przeprowadzenie badań na wybrany temat, opracowanie pisemne raportu oraz prezentacja na zajęciach) – 20 pkt.
3. Test końcowy - 20 pkt.
