Learning outcomes

The graduate has achieved the learning outcomes defined for the study program:
- has knowledge of the mathematics necessary to study the chosen branch of computer science;
- knows advanced methods of designing and analyzing the computational complexity of algorithms and sequential, parallel and distributed programs;
- knows the principles of operation and application of the most important algorithms used in computer simulations in a selected field (approximation, FFT, fast exponential algorithms, heuristics, Monte Carlo methods, genetic algorithms);
- knows the methods of statistical data analysis;
- knows the issues of construction, operation and design of local and extensive computer networks and modern computer systems;
- has knowledge in the field of modeling of the various phenomena and natural processes and has knowledge of specialized IT tools;
- knows in depth the selected techniques of data acquisition and modeling of social structures and processes occurring in them, as well as identifying the rules that govern them;
- has basic knowledge of intellectual property management, can use patent information systems;
- can plan and carry out computer simulations, analyze their results and draw conclusions;
- can analyze the problem and determine algorithms and calculation methods useful for solving it;
- can assess the suitability and the possibility of using new hardware and programming solutions to solve computational problems in a chosen field of application;
- can determine the directions of further learning and realize the process of self-education;
- knows how to use English at intermediate level and use specialized vocabulary allowing reading professional literature (B2+ level);
- knows and adheres to the principles and standards of the IT profession, including ethical standards; understands the social role of the IT profession.
