Knowledge: the student knows and understands
S_W01 to an in-depth degree chosen facts, theories, institutions, processes and phenomena related to linguistic and cultural diversity and the language policy of the European Union, which have practical application in teaching foreign languages in kindergartens and at the first and second educational stages
S_W02 essential terminology from the field of plurilingual and pluricultural education
S_W03 the methods, norms, procedures and standards of practice in educational institutions which promote plurilingual and pluricultural education
S_W05 the social structures and institutions in society and their relationships to one another with a particular emphasis on the countries connected with the languages taught
S_W16 to a significant extent the process of interpersonal communication and social patterns in Polish
Skills: the student is able to
S_U01 search, analyse, evaluate, select and use information, using a variety of sources and methods in Polish and English and, optionally, in French or German
S_U15 speak and write in a precise and coherent way in Polish on topics related to plurilingual and pluricultural education, applying different theoretical approaches and using findings from disciplines related to the pluralistic approaches to language teaching and learning
S_U20 work in a team, performing various roles, is able to accept and assign tasks, possesses the elementary organisational skills necessary for achieving aims connected with designing and implementing professional educational activities
Social competences: the student is prepared to
S_K01 pursue lifelong learning and develop their own plurilingual competence as well as that of their learners
S_K05 interact and work in a group, performing various roles
Assessment criteria
The basis of getting a positive mark is:
- attendance during classes,
- preparation for the classes: information from the bibliography has to be ingested (booklets, brochures, articles and websites), giving presentations, records and materials from the classes ,
- activity during classes (participation in discussion)
- preparing presentations related to the subject matter,
- creating and presenting the final project
Assessment criteria
Tasks that will be assessed:
- preparation for the classes, activity during classes, records from the course – 40% of the final grade;
- midterm presentations and on-going controls – 60% of the final mark;
Assessment criteria related to the Educational Project:
- compatibility with the instructions;
- cultural perspective of the project and its accuracy;
- structure of the paper (logic, style, clarity, bibliography)
- individual opinion of every group member about the project and preparation process;
- the way of presenting the final effects.

Assessment criteria

Student's input:
- 15 hours of participation in the course
- 10 hours of individual preparation (essential to acquire expected results of learning throughout the course;
Given 1,5 ECTS points consist of:
- contact hours, active participation and attendance during classes = 1,0 ECTS points;
- preparation of the obligatory presentations and the final project = 0,5 ECTS point
Bibliography
Materials given below will be presented during classes. Student's task is to read, and therefore know the content of the materials presented during the course (in case of absence – reading them in the library or consulting with the lecturer, also by collecting information from proposed websites). It is required to read the articles presented in the bibliography and to look over suggested websites
