Elementary Hittite 1, lecture 3600-7-WS2-WJH1
Basic course on the Hittite language. Its main part consists of the descriptive grammar of the Hittite language. This includes:
- the basics of the Hittite cuneiform
- phonetics
- morphology
- inflection
- syntax
The course uses original texts in transcription or transliteration.
The student will also learn about the discovery of the Hittite civilisation, the deciphering of the Hittite language as well as the most important hittitological research centres.
