Geography of the Iberian Peninsular and of Latin America 3305-GPAŁ-11
The aim of the course is to identify key factors (natural and social) of contemporary population and economic processes in Spain, Portugal and Latin American countries. Particular attention is put on the differences in the conditions and level of development of the various regions, as well as contemporary processes, such as the migration of people, the development of large cities, the development of sekltora services, including primarily tourism and the impact of these processes on the changing socio-economic behavior.

Prerequisites (description)
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student knows the most important features of the natural environment and socio-economic processes and the relationship of human-natural environment in those regions. Knows the basic data on population and urbanization issues in these countries.
To be able to locate the countries and the the most important regions and cities, physico-geographic, hydrographic network elements and to define a geographical terms specific to Latin America ("americanismos"), Spain and Portugal.
Assessment criteria
This test checks the knowledge of the most important maps and data on population distribution and economic activities as well as knowledge of geographical terms.
