Types of conducting polymers, mechanisms of conductivity, doping methods. Methods of synthesis and mechanisms of polymerization. Application of spectroscopic and electrochemical methods in investigations of polymerization and properties of conducting polymers. Determination of structure and morphology by using microscopic methods. Applications of conducting polymers. Conducting polymer nanostructures: synthesis, properties and applications. Hybrid systems ( metalic, semiconductor nanoparticles-biomaterials ) synthesis, properties.

Learning outcomes
After completing the lecture student:
● possesses the knowledge on synthesis, properties and application of conducting polymers
● possesses the basic knowledge in nanotechnlogy , in particular, the knowledge of the synthesis, properties of polymer and hybride nanostructures,
● knows how to critically discuss the new trends in application of hybride nanostructures
● knows how to independently look for and use the literature connected with different aspects of material science.
