Globalne konteksty dziejów wybrzeża Afryki Wschodniej 3600-7-AF4-PSGKAW
Wykład w syntetyczny sposób przedstawia 2000 lat dziejów wybrzeża Afryki Wschodniej. Wychodząc od postulatów historii globalnej wiąże zjawiska i wydarzenia z dziejów regionu z procesami globalnymi, zarówno zachodzącymi z regionie zachodniej części Oceanu Indyjskiego, jak i wychodzącymi znacznie poza jego horyzont.
Wykład nie ogranicza się do społeczności suahilijskiej i muzułmańskiej. Porusza problemy diaspor pochodzących z Indii, Pd Arabii, Makranu, Komorów, jak również ludności pochodzącej z afrykańskiego interioru.
Poruszane będą problemy kształtowania się etnosu suahilijskiego, powstawania i kształtowania się miast, islamizacji, roli fal migracji arabskiej, pierwotnych form organizacji politycznej, skutków podboju portugalskiego jak i omańskiego, organizacji politycznej i powiązań międzynarodowych Sułtanatu Zanzibarskiego, wpływu rewolucji przemysłowej i przemian w transporcie na życie społeczne i gospodarcze wybrzeża, skutków przemian kulturowych i religijnych zachodzących w XIX i XX w., kolonialnego podboju oraz polityki kolonialnej i afrykańskich reakcji na nią

Efekty kształcenia
Studenci potrafią wymienić podstawowe grupy etniczne zamieszkujące Afrykę Wschodnią, ich źródła utrzymania, języki, jakimi się posługują i religie, jakie wyznają. Główne cechy cywilizacji suahili, główne formy życia politycznego i społecznego, główne cechy okupacji portugalskiej i jej skutki, scharakteryzować ustrój, politykę gospodarczą i problemy prawne, politykę międzynarodową Sułtanatu Zanzibarskiego, specyficzne cechy niewolnictwa w Afryce Wschodniej, przemiany religijne i kulturowe w XIX i XX w.
Studenci potrafią porównać dynamikę rozwoju politycznego państw-miast wybrzeża Afryki Wschodniej, scharakteryzować tło kolonialnego podboju Afryki Wschodniej, scharakteryzować mechanizmy kontroli kolonialnej na wybrzeżu.
