Learning outcomes

1. Educational outcomes
After graduating from the Bachelor’s degree programme in Finance, Accounting and Insurance the graduate:

KNOWLEDGE

- has basic knowledge of the nature of finance, accounting and insurance as a science discipline, its place in the system of social sciences as well as its subject matter and methodological relationships with other science disciplines

- has basic knowledge of the concepts and categories related to economics, finance, accounting and insurance

- has elementary knowledge related to managing various areas of a business entity

- knows the fundamentals of general accounting and finance principles in relation to establishing and developing individual entrepreneurship

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

- is able to correctly interpret social, political, legal and economic phenomena and their impact on the management of finances of businesses and the economy as a whole

- is able to carry out an economic analysis of an economic entity and assess its financial condition, using a variety of tools, including IT tools

- is able to properly analyse the correctness of financial actions undertaken and draw conclusions thereon

- has basic skills of observing, diagnosing, assessing in a rational manner the financial situation and analysing the motives of human behaviour

SOCIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

- is aware of the importance of the knowledge of finance, accounting and insurance for the understanding of socio-economic developments

- is able to think and act in an entrepreneurial manner

- is able to solve some problems relating to accounting, finance and insurance working as part of a team, taking on various roles within it

5. Information on internships (if provided for in the programme of study) specifying the number of ECTS-credits:

- the principles for internships for Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting and Insurance were adopted by the Board of the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw on 18 April 2009. Internships at the Faculty of Finance, Accounting and Insurance have been made compulsory since 1 June 2009.

- the duration of internships in Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting and Insurance is four weeks (in the programme of study 90 hours – 5 ECTS-credits). Each student must complete an internship and earn the required number of internship credits no later than by the end of the last semester of studies, prior to taking the final examination

- the process of earning credits for internships is supervised by the Faculty’s Representative for Internships acting on behalf of the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs. The work of the Faculty’s Representative for Internships is supported by an administrative assistant who handles students’ affairs and maintains records of internships.
