Selected problems of information in Europe 4003-202WPI
The lecture explains key problems of European Union information system. It points out basic weaknesses of this system and presents attempts of filling “the communication gap”.

Learning outcomes
After course students:
KNOWLEDGE
- identify key events in the EU information policy history,
- identify basic problems of the EU information policy,
- point out reasons of success and failure of the EU information campaigns,
SKILLS
- point out and assess tools of the EU media strategy,
- list different functions of Internet in the EU information policy,
- identify and assess information activities of the Polish government related to the European Union,
- describe external information policy of the EU.
- can write a paper on European studies
- integrate the different disciplines knowledge to explain problems
COMPETENCES
- are aware of diversity of messages originated from EU institutions.
Assessment criteria
During the last lecture in the semester the students write final exam. They have to elaborate two problems. They pass the exam if at least one of them will be elaborated very well.
