Ancient Greek Art around us 3700-CS-SSGWN-OG
The subject of the lectures will be to familiarize the audience with the most important issues related to the history of art of the ancient Greece (9th-1st century BC) in the context of its influence (on selected examples) on modern art, especially in the 19th-20th and 21st centuries. It will be a combination of a discussion of the most important artistic phenomena of Greek art with references to these phenomena in modern art. The lectures will not provide a complete, chronological description of the development of Greek art.

During the following lectures, the most important monuments of each epoch will be discussed. A separate lecture will be devoted to the breakthrough resulting from the Persian Wars and the final liberation of Greek art from eastern influences.
