Social activism differently. Migrants involved in supporting refugees 3500-SEMBAD-SPOLA
The research problem considered at the seminar will be the social activism of
migrants in Poland concerning the active support of people with refugee
experience.
The theories of activism, agency, resilience, emotional Energy and empowerment,
as well as the concept of "community sponsorship" will provide conceptual
frameworks. Qualitative research methodology and the ethics of social research
with humans will be discussed in detail.
We will look at the migrants involved in supporting refugees, what motivates
them to engage, what gives them their pro-social activity, and what are costs and
challenges related to their activism.
During the course, participants will learn about the various stages of the research
process and the methodology of qualitative research, including research involving
migrants, particularly refugees, and the ethical challenges related to social
research.
At the course, students will actively create a research project, going through all its
stages: developing a research concept, developing an interview scenario with
people who engage in social activities, conducting interviews,
