Actuales tendencias en el teatro español. Contemporary tendencies in Spanish theatre 3305-ATTH-01
[ES] El curso se enfocará en las tendencias en el teatro español de las últimas dos décadas del siglo XX e inicios del siglo XXI. El objetivo consiste no solo en la reflexión acerca de la trayectoria de la dramaturgia y teatro español, sino que también una parte se dedicará al desarrollo de las competencias analíticas y críticas, al igual que la ampliación del aparato terminológico.
Aunque las cuestiones formales no se pueden obviar, un punto integral del curso será el análisis del argumento, antes que nada, en el sentido de su relación con la realidad, entendida esta como un momento sociopolítico concreto.
El corpus lo constituyen las obras dramáticas y algunos espectáculos, lo cual puede acarrear una reflexión sobre las cuestiones de la dramaticidad y/o la teatralidad.
Durante el curso se comentarán los siguientes asuntos:
1. Las nociones básicas relacionadas con el análisis del texto teatral y el espectáculo;
2. La dramaturgia última: La generación Bradomín y la dramaturgia emergente en el contexto del teatro español de finales del siglo XX y principios del XXI;
3. La hibridación del arte en el teatro y drama;
4. Nuevo paradigma: del teatro dramático al posdramático;
5. El teatro posmoderno;
6. La crítica social; entre el esperpento y el nuevo realismo;
7. Hacia la reflexión "meta"; teatro como espejo del teatro;
8. El teatro español y su relación con las nuevas tecnologías y los medios de comunicación;
9. La dramaturgia femenina.
[EN] During the course will be discussed the latest trends that can be observed in the Spanish theater and dramaturgy of the last two decades of the 20th century and in the 21st century. Furthermore, an integral part of the course is development of analytical and critical skills, as well as acquaintance with a specific methodological apparatus.
Although it's impossible to avoid to reflect on the formal aspects of the analyzed works, an important issue will be the analysis of their plot, and its relationship with reality, the latter one understood as a particular socio-political moment.
Not only dramatic texts will be analyzed, but also theatrical performances, which will lead to an interesting reflection on the drama and / or theatricality of the analyzed works.
1. Basic terms related to analysys of a stage play or stage performance such as: stage play's structure, time and space of a stage play/stage performance, dramatic author and stage director, etc.
2. Recent dramatic plays: "Bradomin's" Generation and "Emerging dramaturgy": dramatic text and its relation to theater.
3. Hybridisation of arts
4. New paradigm: from dramatic to postdramatic theater
5. Postmodernism in Spanish drama and theater
6. Social criticism - between esperpento and the new realism.
7. Considering "meta" level: theater and drama in its own reflection.
8. Contemporary Spanish theater and new techonology and new media
9. Femenine dramaturgy

[ES] Conocimiento:
Después de completar el curso, el alumno:
• ha adquirido la terminología y herramientas relativas a los estudios de teatro y drama (K_W03, K_W03);
• ha adquirido conocimiento relativo a las tendencias teatrales y dramáticas en el marco de las dos últimas décadas del siglo XX y XXI, y, en consecuencia, sabe situar a los autores en un contexto teatral y dramatúrgico más amplio (K_W04, K_W05).
Habilidades:
Después de completar el curso, el alumno:
• es capaz de analizar y evaluar fenómenos teatrales y dramáticos (K_U01, K_U02;K_U03);
• basándose en el conocimiento y herramientas adquiridas, es capaz de analizar las obras teatrales, al igual que formular (y argumentar) opiniones sobre los aspectos formales y argumentales de las mismas (K_U05, K_U06);
• es capaz de organizar sus conocimientos, controlar el proceso de comprensión, buscar, analizar, evaluar y seleccionar información provinientes de diferentes fuentes. Una vez reunidos los datos, el alumno sabe presentar los resultados por escrito y oralmente (K_U01; K_U04; K_U06).
Competencias sociales:
Después de completar el curso, el alumno:
• entiende la necesidad de la constante mejora de sus habilidades (K_K01);
• está interesado en las tendencias y los fenómenos que ocurren en el dram y el teatro españoles contemporáneos (K_K03, K_K04).

After completing the course, the students:
• have acquired basic terms and methodology relative to theater and drama studies (K_W03, K_W03);
• have acquired necessary data relative to the contemporary trends, which comprehends two last decades of 20th and 21st century, in Spanish drama and theater, and, consequently, are able to talk about contemporary authors and playwrights (K_W04, K_W05).
Skills:
After completing the course, the students:
• are able to analyze and evaluate theatrical and dramatical phenomena, which encompass stage plays and stage performances (K_U01, K_U02;K_U03);
• using acquired knowledge and analytical tools, are able to carry out a comprehensive study, including argumentation and conclusion, in relation to aesthetic and formal dimension of theatrical or dramatical play (K_U05, K_U06);
• are able to organize facts and data, control the process of comprehension, search, analyze, evaluate and select information from different sources. Once gathered, the students are able to present the results, both in writing and orally (K_U01; K_U04; K_U06).
Attitudes:
After completing the course, the students:
• understand the necessity of constant improvement and achieving new abilities (K_K01);
• are interested in the trends and phenomena that occur in contemporary Spanish drama and theater (K_K03, K_K04).
Assessment criteria
[ES]
Junto a la presencia en las clases (máx. dos ausencias injustificadas) y la participación activa (reflexión sobre las lecturas/los espectáculos obligatorios), los alumnos deberán realizar un trabajo escrito, eligiendo uno de los formatos propuestos:
a) un ensayo (2-3 pp.) en el que se analizará un aspecto formal y/o temático de la obra teatral o dramática o;
b) escribir una escena dramática (aplicación práctica de conocimientos sobre la estructura dramática).
[EN] Participants of the course will be assessed on the basis of attendance (max. two unexcused absences are permitted) and activities during classes (fulfilling reading requirements and / or viewing fragments of performances, taking part in the discussion).
Receiving a positive grade requires also a preparation of a paper. The student has one of two forms to choose from:
a) a short essay (about 2-3 pages), in which the student will analyze the aspect of the play or spectacle or;
b) writing a stage-play scene (with practical application of knowledge abouut dramatic structure).
