Dilemmas in French literature in the 17th and 18th centuries. 3304-1DZ1W-KL-5-OG
During the seminar students will study selected works of French literature of the 17th and 18th centuries. The works will be analysed from the point of view of the main theme of the seminar, namely human dilemmas and dilemmas. They will be divided and discussed according to three main themes: the dilemmas of the heart; the dilemmas of power; the dilemmas of faith. The proposed readings cover different literary genres and represent different trends, therefore at the beginning of the course each work will be placed in the chronology of the period and the cultural-literary context.
The literature seminar is intended to broaden the horizons and knowledge of the future philologist - romanian.

Upon getting credit for the class student should: 1. be able to place literary developments in the cultural context of an era; 2. understand discussed notions and texts; 3. be able to analyse, on a stand alone basis, and interpret literary text; 4. individually edit a short text on issues and works discussed in classes.
Assessment criteria
2 short tests, a written paper, an oral assessment
3 absences are allowed and additional work is required for more absences.
The form and criteria for passing the course may change depending on the current epidemic emergency. Equivalent passing conditions will be established in accordance with the guidelines in force at the University of Warsaw, in consultation with the students.
Detailed requirements for passing a course will be presented by the lecturer during the first class or will be sent via the University's Student Services System.
