Contemporary Belarussian, Russian and Ukrainian drama after 1991: paradigm shift 3224-DRAMAT-OG
The aim of the lectures is to familiarize students with the specificity of East Slavic contemporary dramaturgy (including the historical and socio-political background). During the course, the development of dramaturgy and specific features are characterized. The profiles of representative artists will be presented and their work will be characterized.
The following issues are discussed as part of the course:
Contemporary dramaturgy: from the "new wave" to the "new drama".
Dramaturgic competitions and festivals (including "New Drama", "Lubimowka", "Eurasia") in the context of contemporary drama.
Experiments in contemporary drama.
Project "documentary theater".
"Ural School" in contemporary drama (Nikolai Kolada, Oleg Bogayev, Vasily Sigariev, Vladimir and Oleg Priesniakov).
"Togliattinska", "Moscow" and "St. Petersburg" school of new Russian dramaturgy.
Belarussian and Ukrainian dramaturgy: in search of identity.
The phenomenon of Evgeny Griszkowiec.
Drama works of Ivan Vyrypaev.
The drama work of Jarosława Pulinowicz. A woman's view of the world.
Drama works of Paweł Priażko.
Works of Konstantin Ścieszyk and Dmitry Bogosławski.

Learning outcomes
Student after completing the course:
1) has a structured, in-depth knowledge of the history of East Slavic dramaturgy after 1991; knows the specifics of the development of Belarusian, Russian and Ukrainian literary life and socio-political determinants; knows the literary terminology (S1_W01, reference to the directional learning outcomes: K1_W01, K1_W03, K1_W04);
2) has theoretical knowledge aboyt dramaturgy, has knowledge about various methods of dramaturgy research (S1_W03, reference to the directional learning outcomes: K1_W01, K1_W02, K1_03, K1_07);
3) knows the European context of dramaturgy development and is able to apply this knowledge to the development of literature and political and social phenomena of the Region countries that took place after 1991 (S1_W06, reference to the directional learning outcomes: K1_W03, K1_W04, K1_W06, K1_W07);
4) searches, selects and critically analyzes selected literary material, uses information from written and electronic sources (S1_U01, a reference to the directional learning outcomes: K1_U01);
5) develops research skills, acquire knowledge independently, using the support of a scientific supervisor; presents the results of research in the form of an oral or written statement (S1_U03, a reference to the directional learning outcomes: K1_U02, K1_U03);
6) prepares a written and oral statement, in Polish, on selected topics in the field of literature in the countries of the region, is able to present the results of his work on the group forum (S1_U06, reference to the directional learning outcomes: K1_U01, K1_U08, K1_U09);
7) is able to recognize different types of dramaturgy in Central and Eastern Europe, analyze them, distinguish various perspectives on the development of dramaturgy (S1_U05, reference to the directional learning outcomes: K1_U05, K1_U07);
8) is able to carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of cultural products appropriate for a given era in the development of two selected countries of Central and Eastern Europe (S1_U09, a reference to the directional learning outcomes: K1_U05);
9) has the need for continuous learning and supplementing the acquired knowledge (S1_K04, a reference to the directional learning outcomes: K1_K01, K1_K02).
Assessment criteria
The condition for admission to the examination is compulsory attendance at classes (admissible number of at most one unjustified absence).
A written work is planned (3-6 p.)
Passing the grade will be oral. It will include knowledge of the material discussed during the classes during the semester.
Passing the grade will cover two questions - one randomly selected from the material discussed in class, one - analysis of one drama.
The final evaluation consists of:
1) written work or presentation on a subject designated by the teacher (20%);
2) an oral examination consisting of two questions (80%).

50% -60% - 3
61% -70% - 3+
71% -80% - 4
81% -90% - 4+
