(in Polish) BUSINESS ENGLISH for Greener and Sustainable Progress 3222-BEGREEN-OG
The framework of the course covers a wide range of business topics. The classes are conversational in nature, but an important element of the meetings are also exercises to support the proper use of expressions used in business communication, both specialized expressions and common expressions of a general nature. The meetings cover the following thematic blocks:
1. energy security.
2. green business strategies.
3. Renewable energy sources.
4 Ways of sustainable development
5 Business and environment protection.
6. Good practices in the face of climate change.
7. Energy transformation pathways.
The student workload:
60 hours, including organised hours - 2 hours per week x 1 semester = 30 hours; unassisted student work = 30 hours (15 hours preparation for classes, 15 hours preparation for the assessment test).
Condition for being allowed to take the final test: attendance at classes in accordance with the University Study Regulations.
A student is entitled to two unexcused absences.
The form of passing the classes in which the student was absent is determined by the lecturer.
If it is not possible to conduct classes in a stationary form, classes will be held using distance communication tools, most likely Zoom and others recommended by UW.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student should be familiar with specialised expressions and common phrases used in business communication and be able to use them freely in communicating with people in a professional context within the scope determined by the thematic blocks given in the course description.
Knowledge:
the student knows the English language at the level C1 plus (K2_W09)
Skills:
The student communicates using grammar rules and lexical items of the English language at the level of C1 plus (K2_U10)
Competence:
The student can evaluate their language knowledge and information received (K2_K01)
The student thinks and acts in an industrious manner, while initiating activities for the social environment (K2_K02)
Assessment criteria
A pass is granted when the student has passed two tests in the semester and the final test in the last but one class of the semester.
The criteria used for evaluating the final (written) test result from percentage bands:
60% – 68% - 3
69% - 77% - 3+
78% - 86% - 4
87% - 95% - 4+
96% - 98 % - 5
99% -100% - 5 !
The student is permitted to have 2 hours of unexcused absence.
