Glottodidactics – cultural aspects in teaching Polish as foreign language 3007-GAK-OG
The course is designed for those interested in teaching Polish as a foreign or second language, representing other fields of study than Polish philology or general and clinical speech therapy. The aim is to equip students with basic knowledge of teaching Polish as a foreign or second language, part of which is teaching Polish culture. Students become familiar with basic terms and concepts of teaching and learning a foreign or second language, so as having finished the course, they are able to self-dependently find information in the literature. They learn about the curricula and teaching materials, as well as techniques of teaching a foreign language, along with elements of knowledge about Poland, Polish culture and linguistic politeness. Attention will be also paid to the differences in verbal and nonverbal communication in various cultures.
