Greek epigraphy 2800-DKEPI
The classes will consist of reading the Greek inscriptions on the
basis of photographs. The object of a particular interest will be
Greek inscriptions from Cyrenaica (in connection with Polish
excavations in Ptolemais). One shall discuss the most characteristic
types of inscriptions like decrees and other inscriptions of legal
character, lists and catalogues, religious inscriptions, epitaphs,
etc. The participants of the classes will get acquainted with the
rules compelling in edition of Greek inscriptions, and with
epigraphic tools. Candidates shall possess a basic knowledge of Greek.
